7th May 2019

Last week in Spain certainly did not start off the way I would have liked, making 2 double bogeys on my first 2 holes. I was very proud of the way I put this behind me and fought back and actually had a putt on my 9th hole to go under par for the day.

I think this fight back was hugely down to the work I have been doing with a new sports psychologist, Stephen Leckey from Athletic Focus. The course setup was very different to the previous week as there was a good amount of rough combined with fast, firm greens. This made it extremely important to hit the fairways.

The course was in excellent condition for the time of year and after two rounds, the leaders were on the same score (-5) as the cut the previous week. I played very solid over the weekend and went 28 holes without a dropped shot and shot -4 for my last 2 rounds, -5 total to finish T20th.

I was a little disappointed not to finish a little higher but after my opening 2 holes on Thursday I would have definitely taken it.

My next event is in Prague this week which I am really looking forward to. Then I have a week off before heading back to Czech the following week. I have now updated this website – thanks to the guys at Genesis Choice Insurance Specialists for doing this for me.
